The 15 SMC Commandments

And on the 6th day, God created Saint Mary's College, and saw that it was better.

1. Thou shalt not judge thy fellow SMCs at brunch, lunch, or dinner.

It taketh a lot of protein to maintain both killer brains and killer hair.

2. Thou shalt tailgate like a champion.

...TODAY. Or any other day.

3. Thou shalt feign support for thy friends' engagements.

No matter the amount of disgust it may causeth thou.

4. Thou shalt appreciate thy huge dorm room.

Thou mayest spend thy entire adult life trying to find windows that big, ceilings that high, and a closet that deep.

5. Thou shalt be proud to be SMC, especially across thy street.

Thou shalt let thy SMC flag fly whilst taking a class or doing an activity at ND.

6. Thou shalt forgive ND boys for being odd.

They might not be the smoothest of God's creations, but most of them hath good hearts.

7. ...Whilst thou keepeth thy standards high.

Duh.

8. Thou shalt cuddle thy roommate.

Either bunk shalt do.

9. Thou shalt pep talk thy fellow SMCs in times of crisis.

Sometimes, with thy love. Other times, with thy tough love.

10. Thou shalt avoid pants.

For pants are the tool of the devil/patriarchy.

11. Thou shalt openly sassmouth anyone who doesn't think women are smart.

Because ain't no SMC got time for that.

12. Thou shalt remain classy and fabulous.

And useth whatsoever definitions of those words thou pleaseth.

13. Thou shalt never leave a SMC behind.

From dorm party to Backer, to weddings five years after college.

14. Thou shalt receive a challenging, fulfilling intellectual and spiritual education.

Not to mention the discovery of thy universe, and thy place in it.

15. Thou shalt always hold thy SMC head high.

From thy first move-in day to commencement, til the day thou shouldst die.
