I don’t see most of these as hacks, but as things most people have been doing for years. A few suggestions for improvements though:
#1. Why God, why? If you don’t want to wash them and wear them 400 times (I’m talking to you, #AndersonCooper ) at least run them through the rinse cycle with another load, and add some vinegar occasionally. You’ll get the stank out AND keep the color. #5. Try Oxyclean + water. #11 & 12. Buy shoes that FIT. #13. Never add vinegar to a laundry load to which you have added bleach - Vinegar + bleach = bad news. #14. Use a leather prep spray BEFORE you wear your leather boots and suede shoes to protect them and prevent water/salt/dirt stains. DON”T use Windex on patent leather. It stinks. Leather cleaners are NOT expensive at HellMart. #18. Again, Oxyclean works here, but check the fabric content. Also, Dawn dish detergent mixed with water. I keep it in a spray bottle in my laundry room for greasy stains. #19. Do NOT use a glue gun on your clothing! The glue could burn the fabric, or worse, leak through. Use iron-on hem tape, or hem it yourself. Everyone should learn how to sew a hem, sew on buttons, and maybe even change out a zipper. Best of all, save TONS of money by making your own laundry detergent. I kid you not, this stuff really WORKS! Have a detergent making party, have all your friends to bring an empty gallon container, and everyone goes home with laundry soap that costs mere pennies to make. NOTE: You need a big pot.
