To help you navigate the upcoming dates, events, and deadlines, the folks at the Office of Residence Life have developed a list of things to consider before room selection. Get stoked.

Interested in Cleveland-Young International Center?

If you're interested in Cleveland-Young International Center, complete and submit the Cleveland-Young application by Friday, March 21 at 4 p.m.

Cleveland-Young International Center is a tight-knit community of students who are interested in broadening their cultural horizons. It offers students unique opportunities to interact with faculty and staff outside of the classroom setting, as well as directed cultural programming in collaboration with the Office of Intercultural Relations and many cultural organizations on campus. Previous events and programs have included cultural dinners, discussions of current events throughout the world and their impact, house retreats, and much more.

Know Your Lottery Number.

The full lottery number listing is on my.lakeforest.edu. To view the list, you must be logged in to the page. Go to the Students tab at the top of the page and then to the Residence Life folder on the left navigation menu. There is a section titled Residence Life Documents on the right side of the page, and the file is named 2014-2015 Lottery Numbers. The file is a PDF so you will need to be on a computer or device that supports that file type.

Are You Eligible for Hall Rights?

If you're eligible to participate in hall rights, you will have received an email on March 19, 2014 from Residence Life. Please carefully read this email.

Hall rights will be held in the Deerpath lobby on Wednesday March 26. Please arrive at the time assigned for the building you live in. Please remember that you must be able to fill a room to choose it at hall rights and all members of a roommate group must be present (or have a proxy form on file with our office). Please bring your Lake Forest College ID – all students must show ID to participate in room selection.

8:00 p.m. – Harlan, Blackstone, Lois, and Nollen

8:45 p.m. – Roberts, McClure, and Gregory

9:30 p.m. – Deerpath and Moore

Students will select in lottery number order during those times. Arriving late will impact your ability to select in the appropriate order, as all students will need to be checked in.

Make Your Way to Room Selection...

Housing lottery numbers are posted in the Mohr Student Center on the Residence Life bulletin board, including the key to what your selection time is based on your lottery number. General room selection will be held on Sunday, April 6 in the Mohr Student Center.

...or Designate a Proxy.

If you are not able to attend room selection at your selected time, please designate a proxy. The proxy form is due by Friday, April 4 at 4 p.m. Find the proxy application here.

Room changes will be available online this summer.

You'll be able to submit your requests for room changes over the summer months. Keep your eyes peeled for an email if you've changed your mind since room selection.

Before you return to campus in August, get to know your roommate.

Even if you're already BFFs, take the time in the summer to decide who will bring what, who's allowed to stay over, and whether or not your roommate is allowed to eat your not-so-secret stash of Funyuns.

If you don't already know your roommate, it could be a little awkward to get to know each other at first. Get to know each other throughout the summer so that things aren't so awkward when you move in!
