Dubbed "The Running of the Weiners", the gathering of sausage dogs kicked off Melbourne's Oktoberfest celebrations.

The event also raised money for Dachshund Rescue Australia.

36 adult dachshunds and 18 puppies competed for the coveted title of fastest dog...

...and for the even better title of best dressed dog.

And it was all pretty overwhelming.
