The Milo Recipe Changed And People Are Mad

"Yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk!!!!!"

Hundreds of people have taken to social media to complain about a recipe change to Milo, an iconic chocolate drink mix popular in Australia and New Zealand.

Vanilla flavouring previously used in the New Zealand recipe has been removed, leaving the drink with a new taste that people are pretty unhappy with.

"We've made a small change to our NZ recipe in order to focus on the four primary ingredients that make up Milo which are milk powder, malt barley, sugar & cocoa," a spokesperson wrote on the Milo Australia & New Zealand Facebook page.

However, the change won't affect the Australian recipe, which didn't have the vanilla flavouring to begin with.

Although the Australian recipe has been altered, it is a vitamin adjustment that should leave the taste unchanged, according to Nestle, the company who make Milo.

"Our Australian recipe has had a small change to the vitamins without changing the great taste Aussies know and love," the spokesperson wrote on Facebook.

Despite efforts to label the removal of vanilla flavouring as a "small change", consumers have hit back at Milo online, labelling the new recipe "terrible", "crap", and "yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk".

A Facebook page titled "Change Milo back to the old recipe" has been liked by almost 4,000 people in the past week.
