San Francisco To Turn Into Gotham City For Boy's Wish

Batman movies aren't enough for you, huh? Well, how about the real thing?

What if you had one wish? No, you can't wish for more wishes. Just one wish. Would you wish you could fly? Maybe you'd want to be invisible? How about wishing for world peace? Nah. If you're more modest, maybe you just wish you could do some yoga without pulling a muscle, or eat just one cake pop (they're too damn good!).

Unfortunately, we don't get to make those kinds of wishes, but the Make-a-Wish Foundation has been granting wishes for years and now they may have topped themselves. On Nov. 15, the city of San Francisco will turn into Gotham City for Miles, a kid – or should I say BatKid – fighting leukemia.

Under his new moniker, BatKid will awaken on the 15th to a breaking news banner from local television stations calling for Batman and his trusty apprentice to help fight crime in Gotham. As if BatKid isn't intimidating enough to his nemeses, he's also got the Caped Crusader on his side.

The Hero Always Gets the Girl

BatKids first order of business other than looking good in a suit, you ask? Rescue the damsel-in-distress from cable-car-tracks, of course. The Hero always gets the girl.

    Riddle Me This

BatKid can't rest now that he has the chick; he's got to stop the Riddler from robbing a vault downtown. Five years old and he's already out-maneuvering Riddler, this kid has some potential.

    A Key to the City

To end the day, BatKid will travel to City Hall where the Mayor and Police Chief will present our hero with a key to the city. I don't think our Dark Knight will need a key to go where he wants now. This kid's having the best day of anyone in the universe, and the highlight of my day is that my two-pack of Starburst was filled with the coveted red-pink combo. Luck is on my side today, friends.

    Mission Accomplished

Miles may only be five, but he's accomplished something that many of us will never get to … He got to be a freaking Superhero and fulfill a lifelong dream.
