I gave up foods with nitrates (bye deli meats!) and artificial sweeteners, which has helped a TON. Can’t give up the wine or cheese though! I also take a prophylactic that has worked WONDERS- I’m on a low dose of Verapamil. I also take 400 mg of B2 and magnesium every night to help with preventing migraines. When I feel a migraine coming on, I’ll pop an Imitrex and drink an ice-cold regular (NOT diet!) Coke or Pepsi- something about the sugar and caffeine helps! If those don’t help, lying down with a tightly strapped-on ice pack is the only thing that makes the rest of the day remotely close to tolerable.
