2. You have a fox, a chicken, and a sack of grain. You need to get all three across a river in a boat. The boat can only carry one item at a time. If left alone, the fox will eat the chicken, and the chicken will eat the grain. How do you get them all across safely?
Take the chicken across first, go back and get the fox, but leave the chicken on the other side. Take the grain across, then go back alone to get the chicken.
3. You are in a room with two doors. One door leads to safety, and the other to danger. There are two guards, one in front of each door. One guard always tells the truth, and the other always lies. You can ask one guard one question. What do you ask to find the door to safety?
Ask either guard, "If I were to ask the other guard which door leads to safety, what would he say?" Then choose the opposite door.
