South Korea has the highest worldwide per capita rate of plastic surgery. According to Jezebel, 1 out of 5 women in Seoul has undergone some kind of procedure, but many men have had surgery too.
The most popular operations include eyelid surgery, to make the eyes appear larger, and getting one’s jawbone shaved or chiseled down for a more V-shaped look.
Some sources say that the rise of K-pop has encouraged the trend of going under the knife.
