    So you’re looking for the perfect college, but you’re wondering how exactly to foot the bill when the time comes to pay up. Never fear! There are plenty of scholarship opportunities out there just waiting for applicants like you. Check out these commonly missed chances at some free money to cover your tuition and then some.

    1. Moody’s Mega Math Challenge

    Are you a high school junior or senior with a passion for coming up with solutions to large national problems using math, science and technology? Do you have 2-4 friends and an advising teacher who share your vision? Then this scholarship opportunity is for you!

    Moody's Mega Math Challenge, sponsored by The Moody's Foundation and SIAM, is hosted every year on the web. Groups of 3-5 high school juniors and seniors compete for a $20,000 cash prize. There are no registration or participation fees, and you must complete the challenge using free, open-source software. This means taking part is absolutely risk and cost free. =)

    2. Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation

    Coca-Cola is more than just a soda brand — it's also a company dedicated to giving back to the community. This scholarship is just one of the ways it seeks to do so. Coca-Cola awards a total of $3.45 million each year to exceptional college students who are committed to taking part in service activities.

    Only high school seniors are eligible to be considered for one of these competitive scholarships, but there are multiple types of awards you can apply for. So if you're currently in high school, it's worth taking a look to see if there is one that might work for you.

    3. Military Scholarships

    If you are or were in the military, you should definitely consider your funding options for getting your degree. Some schools offer generous military scholarship packages with extras like transfer credit for your experience in the service and career development support, on top of the scholarships themselves.

    4. Toyota Teen Driver Video Challenge

    If you're a high school student who aspires for a career in film or digital media, this scholarship opportunity sponsored by Toyota and Discovery Education would be perfect for you. This challenge is open to anyone currently enrolled in high school who is over the age of 13.

    The rules of the challenge are simple: you may work in alone or in a group of 2-4 of your friends to create your own video that promotes safe driving for teens. The submissions will first be judged by a panel, and those videos that are endorsed as finalists will then be posted online so the public can choose a favorite.

    There's plenty of incentive to try your hand at this challenge, as the grand prize not only includes a $15,000 scholarship, but also the opportunity to work with real film professions from Discovery to create a public service announcement about safe driving.

    5. Create-a-Greeting-Card Contest
