  • Hi Laura R. It's adorable to give a preschooler a graduation cake! I assume the author put it in there because of the misspelling. It looks like they mixed “congratulations” and “graduation” in a bag and came up with “gratuation.”

  • What is the author’s problem with the “Home School Graduate” cake? There are millions of kids being homeschooled, and “the home-educated typically score 15 to 30 percentile points above public-school students on standardized academic achievement tests. (The public school average is the 50th percentile.)”* Colleges actually seek them out. There is nothing “depressing” about that cake. That graduation is just as significant an achievement as any other graduation.
