You see, things are getting stale during Valentine's day. It's so repetitive that what once were romantic gifts and gestures are on a premium yet seen as unexceptional. In order to help you lovers out there get out of an unoriginal Valentine's rut, here are a few creative ways to heat things up in this day of love.
Take Me to the Gun Show
Not that kind of gun show. What I meant was take your partner to the firing range. It might seem un-romantic since it's a place of violence, aggression, and self-defense but fret not, the loud noises and the dangerous sensation of holding and firing a powerful weapon increases the excitement and danger that you two can use later in the evening. And let's face it, there's nothing sexier than chicks with guns.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Well, you could rent this classic movie but what I meant was be spontaneous on this day. Don't do that boring routine other couples do on this day. Just go out and don't plan a thing! It's that simple! Take a day off and go on a road trip and go wherever the road (or gas budget) takes you. Unplanned things often hold the biggest surprises.
Change the Formula
Let's say you still want to give flowers and chocolates, but you don't want to come off as lackluster and uninspired. Well, change the variables instead! Rather than celebrating it for a day, why not make it a week, or even a month? Rather than giving roses, why not hire a flower delivery service and send her something different every hour? The choice is up to you. Just remember that a little originality comes a long way.
Stay Offline
Just. Don't. Post. Anything! In this highly technological era, social media is ingrained to our daily lives. Everything is shared and seen that nothing seems special anymore. Also, you don't really want to see everything your friends do (unless you're a stalker) and they in turn don't want to see your every movement.
A personal touch is also more romantic. Show up to your partner's office unannounced and surprise him / her. Use the element of surprise to your advantage. You don't want to spoil your moves by announcing it to the whole world. Make a moment that only you two can share without giving a damn about anyone. That will make a more romantic gesture.
So please, don't share everything on social media this Valentine's day. Make it a day full of loving surprises. And please, please think of the lonely hearts you'll crush on your friends list.
