Writer Meghan Harper was tired of seeing young women discredited for being passionate about the things they loved. So she did what she does best: She wrote about it.
Her Tumblr post "Why I Fucking Love Teenage Girls" found its way to hundreds of thousands of eyes, including those of Lindsay Webster and Katie Wingfield, media students at the University of Oklahoma. For their final video project, they adapted Meghan's essay into a stop-motion video.
At first, things seem bleak.
But the video goes on to show how teenage girls take "all that energy, all the circulating fire in their veins, and instead of letting it destroy them, they choose to love ferociously."
It challenges everyone watching: "Just try and talk shit about teenage girls around me. Just try it."
