Sense8 Is The Best New Show You're Not Watching

    So start watching. (contains spoilers)

If you've heard people talking about the new Netflix original series Sense8 and thought 'huh, that seems cool' but didn't stop your life to go and binge watch immediately, i'm here to tell you that you've been adulting wrong.

This show is stop your day worthy, pick seven friends (or strangers, get weird) and try to psychically form your own cluster instead of go to work worthy, awesome.

The most basic summary I can give you is that the show revolves around eight 'sensates' from different parts of the world who are all psychically and emotionally connected. They have the ability to 'visit' and 'share' which really just means not having to pay for plane tickets and also never having to learn a skill for themselves so long as one of the others knows it.

Aside from the general awesomeness of this show as a whole, it's created a subtly genius blend of very normal characters in an abnormal situation. It's hard to find shows, even really good shows, that give you painfully average characters in terms of positions in life or experiences they are currently struggling through. It's entertainment, so naturally you want to spice it up, but life when left alone is actually far more entertaining than we give it credit for.

Of course the fact that they sometimes have mental orgys or can take down eight men at once because a Korean woman has overtaken your body for a moment is not super typical but ya know.

New shows often burn out fast. They want to throw everything at you to make season one an action packed 12-24 episodes of insanity. It works but then what they hell are they supposed to do in season two? Case in point-- Prison Break. Once they break out of prison, are you even watching the same show anymore?

But Sense8 set up a season that, at the end of the day, was run by the characters being exactly who they were-- people.

We watched Wolfgang, Will, Kala, Riley, Lito, Sun, Nomi and Capheus carry on a show and keep us hooked because we liked them and all they were going through.

Yea there were a slew of badass scenes that made you actually short circuit with epicness, but still some of the most stand out moments were small conversations between them. Lito and Nomi sitting in a museum relating to each other on levels of secrecy and self destruction will still stick out even amongst Wolfgang's iconic scene of literally blowing up his evil cousin with a rocket launcher.

If you're not watching, do yourself a favor and call out sick. Order pizza, get some wine and a box of tissues and do what you do best-- binge.

Binge watch my pretties, make your little dog binge watch too.
