Girls Use Social Media More Than Boys, But At What Price?

A new study from Common Sense Media finds that teenage girls text, tweet and enjoy posting photos online more than teenage boys. But their social media savvy comes at a cost: About half the girls surveyed said they worry about others posting "ugly photos" of them online, and 28 percent said they edit pictures of themselves before uploading them. (Compare that to the 24 percent of boys who worry about unflattering pictures and 9 percent who edit their own photos.) Does more exposure to social media mean more self-consciousness?
