Toronto Teen With Down Syndrome Defies All Odds

Very few people with Down Syndrome will ever be able to sing. For a Toronto teen, Madison Tevlin, goes way beyond everyone’s expectations by singing John Legends hit song ‘AllOf Me’.

    This is Madison Telvin

She is defying the odds in a big way.

Madison is a 13 year old girl with Down Syndrome, who is challenging the notion, that those with Down syndrome may have difficulty singing.

She has not let challenges get in the way of her dreams. Madison told CTV Toronto, "It's really cool. I love to sing."

According to the National Down Syndrome Society, children and adults with the condition generally face communication challenges. Madison's vocal coach, Marla Joy, said "Down Syndrome children should have low monotone gruffy voices. They have problems with hearing and shouldn't be able to memorize as easily."

If you listen to Madison sing and hear her talk, you will see that she is not limited or defined by Down Syndrome.

Madison's goal is to inspire others with Down Syndrome. "I want them to know they can do it," she said.

Madison Tevlin, you are an inspiration to all of us.
