How is “partner” better? Husband can only mean one thing, that the person is your male spouse, while “partner” could mean boyfriend, spouse or someone you dance with at a country party.

I love the idea of Yoda movie, but SW lore has never stated (well, maybe once or twice in the EU, but never in the official G-canon) that he is the last of his species. In fact, there was a female Jedi master from Yoda’s race in the Phantom Menace… she died, but she and Yoda were never meant to be the LAST one.
