People outside the South have A LOT of ideas about what it means to be a Southerner.
Problem is, most of those ideas aren't anywhere close to being right.
For example, some people think of Southerners as hillbillies who run around without any shoes.
And some people think all Southern guys are pickup truck-riding farmers...
...and all girls are Southern belles straight out of Gone with the Wind.
Perhaps worst of all, some people believe that all Southerners are ignorant and stuck in the past.
