    Lucian Freud - Turned down CBE 1977

    How very dare one turn down the offer.

    Francis Bacon - CBE 1960

    But is the honour artistic?

    Alfred Hitchcock - Said no to CBE in 1962

    It's not "Psycho" it's "Snub".

    CS Lewis- Rejected CBE in 1952

    Doesn't a snub live in Narnia?

    John Lennon - Returned his MBE in 1969

    He sent it back, how ungrateful!

    Roald Dahl - I don't want it OBE in 1986

    They also tried to give it to the Bucket family but they said no too...so The Twits had it instead!

    Albert Finney - Snubs Knighthood in 2000 and CBE in 1980

    Not just once but twice for Daddy Warbucks!

    David Bowie - Sang no to CBE in 2000

    John, I'm only snubbing!
