Did you know that federal courts are in a state of crisis?
Judges have retired without being replaced
And now the remaining judges are increasingly anxious
The first step to resolve this crisis is with the President nominating a judge
Despite the crisis, Obama nominating judges for vacant spots led him to be accused of packing the courts
Now, Congress will take up the nomination of Nina Pillard
Pillard is best known for her work allowing women to be admitted to VMI
The President of VMI at the time, who Pillard litigated against, was so impressed that he has endorsed her nomination
But conservatives are still launching attacks, hoping to hold her nomination hostage
They've attacked her for believing in gender equality...
They've attacked her for believing in family planning...
They've said that she's as liberal as a California judge, just "in a skirt"...
They attacked her for arguing that family leave should also be available to men (a position even Justice Rehnquist agreed with)...
They attacked her for supporting evidence-based sex education...
They even said that she doesn’t understand the real meaning of her own law review articles...
And while all these are terrible arguments...
And they tend to make one upset...
Remember that they are all lies and baseless smears...
And urge the media to give Nina Pillard a fair shake
