I don;t like the heavy filters & photoshoppoing on some of these images. But I do love abandoned places that aren’t covered in spraypaint. Spraypaint ruins everything.

http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/battleship-island-japans-rotting-metropolis for a good photo essay on gunkanjima. having lived in japan it’s so odd that this place is less than an hour’s boat trip away from the mainland, but is so far removed from any kind of normal japanese lifestyle.
