How To Lose A Job In 10 Days

You, too, can have a McConaissance.

You did it! Your cover letter is drafted, your resume is perfect, and you know where you want to work. The job's practically in the bag, right?

Didn't think so. You've got a long way to go before receiving that coveted offer letter — and a lot of "don'ts" to keep in mind during the process.

It's too easy to lose your edge, so don't let your guard down. Losing that job in a quick ten days is easier than you might think (hint: do not do any of the following):

    1. Submitting an untailored resume or cover letter.

Or submitting an overly designed resume.

    2. Not updating your LinkedIn profile.

    3. Neglecting mobile as a job-searching tool.

    4. Showing up in person to check on your application.

    5. Neglecting your personal network.

    6. Instagramming your latest keg stand.

    7. Embellishing your previous experience.

    8. Showing up to your interview knowing how many kids your boss has.

    9. Expecting to walk out with a job offer in your pocket.

    10. Giving up.
