    27 Great Tips For Custom Heat Transfer Paper Business

    Armed with just a computer, a printer, an iron and your imagination...you can start a very fun, profitable business making custom t shirts.

    1. Buy the heat transfer...

    ...papers your customers/client prefer don't buy what you like. You'll sell more if you cater to your customers.

    2. Sample packs are...

    ...a great way to try out the papers. Most sample packs contains 5 sheets of 3 of the most popular heat transfer papers.

    3. All heat transfer papers...

    ...should be washed the same way. Turn the shirt inside out, was in cold water with no bleach on a gentle. Remove near end of spin cycle.

    4. Don't wash...

    ...with other items

    5. Wash with cold...

    ...water. Hot water fades the images

    6. Gentle...

    ...cycle only

    7. Don't Wash...

    ...too long

    Test all shirts before committing to buying a lot of them. Some fabrics don't work well with heat transfer papers and you don't want to be stuck with them.

    Stretching your shirt before pressing will reduce cracking and peeling

    ...are key. Peelng is a sign you need more pressure.

    ...print white. You must design your images with this in mind. Use the paper as the white areas or do the white in off white so it does print.

    ...matte the letters on a graphic. When you do this, you don't have to trim it.

    ...cutter is almost always better than hand cutting. Using a razor or box cutter puls and stretches the transfer. A cutter does not.

    21. Tear a corner...

    ...of the backing paper to aid you in getting peeling it off before transferring

    22. Storing Heat Transfer Paper

    Keep transfer paper in the plastic sleeve it came in when not being used. Keep away from air conditioners and and off the floor.

    23. Shirts should be...

    ...moisture free before pressing. Press your shirt for about 5 seconds before pressing to ensure all the moisture is dried up.

    24. Make sure your customers...

    ...receive detailed instructions for pressing and washing with each purchase. Make sure they are prominently packaged and won't be overlooked.

    25. Don't wash...

    ...transfers for 24 hours. Let the transfer rest for a day.
