The Beacon Of Hope Everyone Is Missing

Eric Mims wants to change his state, the country, the world, the way we view EV's, and the way car manufacturers care for the community they grow in.

This isn't just the story of an electric vehicle start-up company.

Eric Mims' vision has been in the making for 28 years now. An all electric sports car; fast to charge, distances up to 1,000 miles per charge, fun to drive, made in America. The first African-American owned car manufacturer in a century, Mims is bringing us the Spyder GL. An affordable carbon fiber bodied car with 224 horse power and a top speed of 162 MPH, the revolutionary, patent-pending, Carbon Fiber Magnetic Motor features a friction-less motor that weighs in at 10% of a typical motor, yet still pumps out 33% more power. It will come with an optional 6 speed manual transmission, and the Direct Charging Power Cell battery will allow for ranges of up to 1,000 miles. The "Carbon Clear" paint option shows off the weave of the carbon fiber, and like every paint option available for the Spyder, it cannot be scratched.

He envisions charging stations that are enjoyable to be at, when you need to visit one. His vehicles will have wireless recharge technology that will allow you to pay with an energy card. Insert the card into the dash, enter the range you want, pay and go. Drivers will be able to utilize this feature for up to 2 years, or 24,000 miles, before having to visit a charging station. Mims currently has plans to build 500 Enigma Energy stations in Nevada as well. Between the manufacturing of the Spyder, and the opening of his charging stations, he's estimating a total of 15,000 jobs over the next 5-10 years.

He also sees better for his community and country. Mims is set up with top suppliers in Michigan for design, fabrication, and crash testing for the Spyder GL, as well as future models. Then, the cars will be assembled in Nevada. He wants to create lasting, sustainable, jobs in this community, based on something good for the environment.

He wants to give back to community from the start. As CEO of Enigma Energy and Mims Motors, it is his goal and passion to effect as much change in his lifetime as possible. As his vision comes to realization, he hopes to help the next generation of child inventors and innovators reach their highest potential. "...We will expand our company to include an educational out reach program, to assist young ones from all walks of life, giving them the chance to learn skills previously reserved for the wealthy or well traveled.", said Mims. "The next Isaac Newton and Michael Angelo of the world is out there, we aim to find them."

Now, Mims has given everybody a chance to back his dream, and the future, with his Kickstarter Campaign. Yet, it seems to be slipping through the cracks. With 13 days to go, there are currently 7 backers for a total of $481. http://kck.st/1Gw9xkw

It makes you wonder, with a chance to back the first African American auto manufacturer in a century, green energy, a sporty EV that breaks many of the barriers preventing people from buying one, great American jobs, a community outreach to help give underprivileged children educational nurturing in scientific fields, and a whole lot of other bits of "feel good" bundled up in one Kickstarter; why isn't this getting more attention? Don't we want to focus on how to build our communities up? Don't we want to figure out how to keep our cars, while bypassing all the politics and environmental issues that comes from our dependence on oil? Don't we want to create lasting jobs in this country?

As the clock counts down on Mims Motors' Kickstarter, we should all take the time to not only pledge and share this vision, but also to ask ourselves; When will we actually start taking the time and effort to bolster the ability for positive visionaries to accomplish their work?

As for Eric Mims, he will be going forth with his vision, regardless of how the Kickstarter ends. The outcome will just effect how much "saltiness" he does it with.
