Miami People Try Pollo Tropical For The First Time

"Nothing beats grandma's cooking, I'm sorry."

Pollo Tropical is a Carribbean-inspired fast food chain and a Miami institution. BuzzFeed Motion Pictures managed to find some Miami natives who have never eaten Pollo Tropical and had them try it for the first time.

These young ladies explained why they never paid for Pollo Tropical when their grandparents make the same food at home.

First up, platanos maduros, or sweet plantains. Miamians have VERY strong feelings about their plantains.

Luckily, Pollo Tropical gets it right.

    Sooooo good.

Next up is fried yucca, and it's all about that cilantro garlic sauce.

Seriously, tho, that sauce is worth the price of a plane ticket to Miami.

Time for the star of the show...

    iQue rico!

It may not be grandma's cooking, but it gets the job done.

    These ladies are into it.

    "It's good, it's delicious...it's food!"

At the end of the day, this guy is glad that a Cuban or Caribbean-inspired fast food chain even exists.

This woman's final verdict was that she really enjoyed the chicken, which is pretty important when you have "Pollo" (chicken) in your title!

Doesn't a flight to Miami sound pretty great right about now?

Just watch out for those humidity-loving flies!
