Oh please.. the kid isn't in distress and knew he wasn't supposed to go back there. If you immediately fix every situation for them they learn nothing. It's not like he wasn't touching the floor or couldn't breathe or was bleeding - he just couldnt get out like he wanted to. Those of you saying this is horrible obviously dont have children.. if he was so traumatized he wouldn't care about the toys still being under there. He's a little character. My bigger concern is why werent the parents watching him when he decided to jump over the couch into a plugged in lamp?
