Jennifer Lawrence To Star In Movie Version Of Australian Book "The Rosie Project"

    Fair dinkum!

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to star in the movie version of Graeme Simsion's The Rosie Project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Set in Melbourne, the 2013 novel tells the story of genetics professor Don Tillman's quest to find the perfect match, which is complicated when he meets Rosie, who doesn't meet any of his criteria.

Simsion - who wrote an early version of the screenplay as well as the book - said on Twitter that he was "delighted" by the news, but hinted that the movie will probably no longer be an Australian story.

@Colvinius I think as soon as Sony acquired it that became unlikely. I'm ok with it - the story does not rely much on location.

But Jennifer Lawrence could totally rock the Australian accent, just quietly.
