16 Things Brighton Fans Learnt About The 3-0 Win Over Charlton

tweets, images, quotes, clips and analysis from a #bhafc perspective on the Brighton V Charlton Championship game on April 12 2014.

    1. The gloom has finally lifted...

Not much more to say to #BHAFC fans other than enjoy your Saturday night. #sweet

Oh hello Play Offs. I want to be in you x #bhafc

3-0 full-time. #bhafc timing their challenge nicely. Sixth for now, where they have only been so far this season for a week in January.

    2. We score when we want.

Jesse Lingard and Solly March celebrate Albion's first goal #BHAFC #BHAFCVCAFC

We've scored 10 goals in a mere 4 games. The previous 10 Championship goals took a never ending 14...

Bang The Mighty Leonardo makes it two #bhafc @BrightonTogs

A small tweak in formation – moving to a 4-2-3-1 – has paid dividends. In the 4-1 demolition of Leicester and the victory over the Addicks, the Albion's midfield have lined up with Keith Andrews and Dale Stephens as the two deeper players with a trio of Jesse Lingard, Solly March and Kazenga Lualua behind Leonardo Ulloa. The personnel might not be radically different to the rest of the season but it's the roles they are being asked to perform.
By contrast, Brighton, superbly exploited the space offered to them by their lacklustre opponents. Their quick passing, excellent movement and very real attacking threat were part of the perfect display of the sort of football many Charlton fans want their side to play.

    4. Where's Tom ?

Thanks for all your nice tweets. Really pleased to be back playing but more importantly 3 massive points. #bhafc

A first start for Casper in over 12 months was the surprise on the team sheet.

#BHAFC team v Charlton: Ankergren; Bruno, Upson, Greer, Ward; Andrews, Stephens, March; LuaLua, Lingard, Ulloa.

In the end had very little to do and secured our 19th clean sheet of the season.

Only 6 games for Casper since Dec 2011 but has vast experience on his side. Interesting he gets the nod over Brezovan. #bhafc

    TK was ill.

Reason for absence of Kuszczak is illness. #bhafc

Casper confirmed that in a post match interview via BBC Sussex Sport - https://audioboo.fm/boos/2070874-albion-keeper-casper-ankergren-after-charlton-victory . Although there is wildly different view on what might have happened via this North Stand Chat thread.

    5. He's back...

#BHAFC subs v Charlton: Brezovan, Dunk, Rodriguez, Calderon, Mackail-Smith, Forster-Caskey, David.

but inexplicably Oscar didn't bring him on with a few minutes to go.

    6. Poyet was back. Diego Poyet.

Apologies to everyone for my performance today. Not good enough.

    He had a tough afternoon.

    7. For the fourth week in a row, Charlton won on Tuesday night and lost on the Saturday

    8. Ulloa's goal WAS onside

Had a couple of tweets saying it was left back Wiggins who played Ulloa on. Here's a wider shot

To correct an earlier tweet, we have seen the second goal from a new angle and it looks a lot closer. Marginally on / offside. (IL) #cafc

    9. Football League Show verdict

    10. Kaz again showed he was worth starting...

    11. Jesse Lingard finally starting to show the promise we expected when he signed.

JESSE LINGARD voted #BHAFC #twitterMOTM v #CAFC with 60% of vote ahead of Greer, March, Ward & Stephens. #BHAFCvCAFC

If only he'd scored that one on one with Hamer after the perfect Ulloa flick

    12. Sadly the last ever TSLR went on sale...

Here's the last cover of TSLR, a tribute to the hard work of Co-editor @swiftenburg #bhafc

Took delivery of the last ever @tslr , so went to my first selling spot for good measure. Sold none! #withersmemories

    13. The match kicked off at 3.07pm.

A minutes silence to remember those lost at Hillsborough. #JFT96 #BHAFC #CAFC

    14. On Saturday we had the third biggest crowd in the country...

Stunning at the Amex today and great result #bhafc

    15. In February it turns out we were only 6 minutes away from knocking out the eventual FA Cup finalists

    16. 4 games to go...Huddersfield, Yeovil, Blackpool and Forest
