1. TB: "We have a squad that could get us promoted"
"As I say at the start of every season, we are trying to build a squad which has got the potential for getting promoted. That is our No.1 goal this season and I certainly think we have got the squad which could get there."
2. TB: "It was the toughest transfer window in the 5 years i've been chairman"
"It was always going to be difficult in a World Cup year, it was more difficult because we changed managers, we had to understand what Sami wanted, we certainly expected to have had 1 or 2 more players in place at the start of the season..and we didn't expect Dale Stephens or Solly March to miss the start"
3. TB: "The criticism of David Burke was totally unfair"
"We didn't get every single player we were after, but we did get the majority, but thats not down to David. Its sometimes unfortunate circumstances, clubs not wanting to sell, and sometimes the player getting an offer from a Premier League club. I , for one, are not so worried about what fans think during the transfer window… if there's short term criticism, thats fine"
4. PB: Seagulls Player is "a poor service and its not good enough"
"Its not our contract, its a collective contract, it dates back to Dick's time, and all of the clubs at that time opted in for a ten year period. It limits us massively from the website right the way through all of our digital rights. Its a poor contract, they are poor contractors, Its a poor service, its not good enough I rant and rave about it at every League meeting I go to. I've already given the Chief Exec of the League advance warning that next week i'm going to give a bit of merry hell about it. We're letting you down"
5. TB: "The low point was Stephen Ward"
The low point was Stephen Ward. We were expecting that one to happen. He was down here for a medical and everything was agreed. Its the first time in my time here that everything's been agreed and then something happens at the last point. We moved onto our next target, Joe Bennett. It could easily be a blessing in disguise.
6. TB: "We didn't give clubs a 6 point start"
"I've heard this argument before. I totally refute it. We didn't give people a 6 point start. Obviously we didn't want to lose our first two games. We had every chance of winning those games. In an ideal world we would have had our full squad but it wasn't possible. Its just not possible in the real world. Against Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham we had teams more than capable of winning"
7. TB: "Norwich, Cardiff and Derby" will be contenders for promotion.
Norwich, Cardiff, Derby County - it will be close. there's 10 or 12 teams that have a realistic chance of making the top 6.
8. PB: "If you don't like the words of #GOSBTS on the screen. Don't look at them"
PB: "we didn't intend to [fade Sussex by the Sea before the game against Charlton], it was a production issue, but it worked amazingly well. I love the fact that people get behind it and sing it. If you don't like the words on the screen, then don't look at it. Its an important song in our history and in the county of Sussex' history. I think we should be proud of it. I've given our [marketing] team the task of finding the best way of replicating that atmosphere again"
9. TB: We only had interest this window for Leo and Will.
"There was interest for Leo and for Will Buckley and those are the two that went."
10. TB "As far as i'm concerned Sammy Lee is history...I'm really happy with Sami and Nathan"
11. TB: Not all of the money from Leo, Will and Liam is invested in new players
"We've just got to make sure we get the best possible deal for the football club. We invest some of [the transfer] money but we didn't spend it all, and some went on the huge costs we have here.
"It helps with financial fair play, but it's not the main thing. We lose a lot of money each year, approximately £10 million so if we reduce those losses and have a very good squad then that's even better."
