The television phenomenon that was "Friends" truly helped put the Thanksgiving holiday on the map. Sure, the pilgrims, Indians, and Macy's tried. But "Friends" found a niche early on and ran with it, making their Thanksgiving episodes hilarious, memorable, and now, a tradition. Here is a ranking of the best Thanksgiving episodes from the iconic sitcom.

10. The One Where Underdog Gets Away (Season 1)

In this episode from the first season, the audience is introduced to the specific character details centered around this certain holiday that will carry on throughout the entire series. First, we learn that Chandler hates Thanksgiving. Then we learn Phoebe is a vegetarian and that Monica loves to host.

Memorable Moments: Spotting Ugly Naked Gal, Joey's face appearing on an ad for VD, and the beginning of what ended up being the most anticipated episode of each season.

9. The One With The List (Season 2)

The second season "Thanksgiving" episode barely had anything to do with celebrating the holiday. It focused on the love triangle between Ross, Rachel, and that Julie person.

We all remember how heartbroken and disappointed Rachel was when she found the list Ross made, comparing her to Julie. "Just a waitress?" she cried. Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time of friends, food, and joy. Not sadness and gloom!

Memorable Moments: Phoebe's song "Two of them kissed last night."

"Even though I made him up, he must decide!"

8. The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs (Season 7)

Ugh. I have such a love/hate relationship with this episode. Look, I know it must be difficult coming up with new, funny, and creative material all revolving around Thanksgiving. But...an entire episode devoted to why Chandler doesn't like dogs? Who the hell cares? And if that wasn't annoying enough, there's Ross making everyone play the "States Game". AGAIN, WHY?

There were some decent jokes in this one episode and I enjoyed how they were all together in the apartment the entire time, but..eh.

Memorable Moments: When Joey introduced us all to the philosophy of a "Moo point."

7. The One With the Late Thanksgiving (Season 10)

In the last Friends Thanksgiving episode ever (until that Thanksgiving reunion special I hope is in the works airs) Monica and Chandler host Thanksgiving at their apartment and are upset because Ross, Joey, Rachel and Phoebe are all running late and miss dinner. "Oh no!" we were all thinking. "This is the gangs last Thanksgiving meal together. They can't fight like this!"

"The vein is bigger than I've ever seen it!"

6. The One With Rachel's Other Sister (Season 9)

In this episode, Rachel's other sister, Amy, surprises the gang for Thanksgiving dinner and, naturally, frustrations arise. Christina Applegate was great as Rachel's self-centered and rude sister - and even picked up an Emmy for her guest spot.

Memorable Moment: Monica terrified of ruining her wedding china, so she cuts her turkey like this:

"Forget the bubble wrap! There isn't time!"

5. The One With the Rumor (Season 8)

"If you must know, Anita was very gentle and tender. May she rest in peace."

4. The One With Chandler in a Box (Season 4)

In this episode, Monica finds herself falling for Richard's son (and wearing an eye patch) while Joey makes Chandler sit in a box to repent on how he betrayed him by kissing his girlfriend.

3. The One With All the Thanksgivings (Season 5)

I know, I know. I am sure many of you are shocked that this episode isn't number one. From Chandlers depressing Thanksgiving with the pool boy to Monica with a turkey on her head, this episode takes us back to the 80's where, not only do we get to see a Thanksgiving flashback, but how members of the group first met, making this episode one not to miss!

Memorable Moments: Everything.

2. The One With The Football (Season 3)

This is one of the best episodes of all time. Not only did it introduce the audience to "The Gellar Cup" but it showed a fun, competitive side of the group where they engage in a "friendly" game of football.

Memorable Moments: Chandler and Joey fighting over the Dutch girl (who is not from Neverland), Monica's cheer to Ross ("42 to 21, like the turkey, Ross is done"), and a troll doll mounted to a 2x4.

1. The One Where Ross Got High (Season 6)

Aside from this being the best Thanksgiving episode, this is also my favorite episode out of the entire series. I don't even know where to begin with this episode, from Phoebe watching The Green Bay Mermen to Ross thinking Rachel's dessert tastes like feet, this is some of the best 22 minutes you'll ever watch.

Memorable Moments: The beef trifle, the tiny can of condensed milk, and this:

"Hurricane Gloria didn't break the porch swing...Monica did!"
