WordNinja 9 months agoFor all those posting opinions on why the ships they like are better than the one Dr. Tyson was talking about, you should understand, while quite a few of the ships mentioned in the comments - including the Millenium Falcon, and Star Destroyer - were alive in the earlier rounds at STARSHIP SMACKDOWN 2012, it ultimately came down to casting a final vote between the Original Starship Enterprise, captained by CAPTAIN AMERICA vs. the Starship Enterprise Refit, captained by CAPTAIN QUINT. And because the votes, up until this point, had been practically even split with the panel of “spaceshipologists”, the moderator turned it over to anyone in the audience who could help sway a vote in either direction… and it was Dr. Tyson, much to the surprise of everyone in the room, who was first to grab the mic and share his thoughts on why the original USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) should win Starship Smackdown. And as you could see by both the panel’s and audience reactions, his reasoning was quite persuasive.

I’m sorry, Dr. Tyson, the Millenium Falcon is, and will always be. The Enterprise was a ship where characters went around doing amazing things. The Falcon was a character in its own right.
