5 Successful Blogging Traits

So I decided to dig a little deeper and look at some of the common things successful bloggers do and here is what I found. Successful Bloggers…

• 1. Have Consistent Post (Once a day)

  

  I do not know if I can post at this frequency just yet but this seems to be recommended by most successful bloggers and is also recommend in the John Chow Dot Com (johnchow.com) e-book titled Make Money Online. The reason for this is that it keeps people checking back to your blog for an update. It also keeps fresh content on the blog therefore forcing the search engines to spider your blog more often. However frequent you decide to post just make sure that your post frequency never goes down. Ultimately, the number of post should either increase or be somewhat consistent.

• 2. Have Helpful Material

  Good content is sometime called link bait. If you write about things people can actually apply to their own situations they are more likely to link to your post which of course would help your site with the search engines. Materials that can be classified as helpful are how-to articles and video tutorials.

• 3. Have Purpose

  Have a purpose outside of the obvious, “To Make Money” mantra. People can spot a phony but if you are passionate about your niche, it will show up in your handy work. Ask yourself, how will my blog benefit my readers?

• 4. Make comments on Other Blogs

  Be active in the blogging community surrounding your niche. One way to do this is by posting thoughtful comments on other blogs providing that the comment relates to the topic. Be an upstanding member in your blogging community. If people perceive you to be competent in a particular subject, they actually might want to come over to your blog to see what you have to say.

• 5. Take Action

  Do not just read about what it takes to make a great blog but also put it into practice! I guarantee you will not get it right the first time. The simple fact is no matter how much you read about a subject, you are still going to make mistakes. It is part of the process.
