2. The Lizzie Borden House

Fall River, Massachusetts

The Lizzie Borden house is the sight of a grisly ax murder, which occurred in 1892. The crime was never solved, but the child's rhyme serves as a reminder of the murders all those years ago. The House has been since been turned into a Bed & Breakfast where you can get on the waiting list to spend the night.

3. The Chelsea Hotel

This hotel has a long, long, history of suicides, overdoses, and hauntings. In Room 100 Sid Vicious' girlfriend Nancy Spungen was murdered. Unfortunately the hotel has split Room 100 up, leaving only the original bathroom sink, and been closed for major renvoations since two summers ago.

This glamourous Hollywood hotel has long had a reputation for being haunted by some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift, and Carol Lombard. Rooms run about $264 a night.

5. The Queen Mary

Long Beach, CA

This 1930s cruise liner became known as "the haunted ship" after numerous grisly deaths occurred onboard, and is one of the most haunted hotels in the world. It also earned the nickname, "The Grey Ghost," when it was used as a transport ship during World War II. 49 people have died onboard The Queen Mary, but it also left 300 stranded in the water to die during World War II. Some parts of the ship are so haunted they are now barred to the public. For as low as $65 a night you can stay onboard this haunted ship.

6. Cresent Hotel

Eureka Springs, Arkansas

This hotel in the Ozark Mountains has plenty of ghost stories, and may be the most haunted hotel in the United States. Secret passages still exist under the hotel, as does the morgue which is now the hotel's basement. The strangest chapter of the hotel's history was when it was turned into a hospital from 1937 to 1939. If you aren't too scared to stay, rooms run about $250 a night.

7. The Myrtles Plantation

St. Francisville, Louisiana

Deep in the heart of Louisiana's Voodoo land, this antebellum plantation is easily one of American's most haunted houses. Look for the ghost of Chloe, a former slave who poisoned three of the family's children and was then hung and thrown in the Mississippi. She wears a green turban and can often be seen. For around $300 a night you can book a room and stay with The Myrtles.

This hotel in the New Hampshire mountains is certainly no stranger to ghosts. If you're scared, don't stay in room 314 where the ghost of Caroline, a prominent Victorian guest, still resides. Book a room here for around $200 a night.

9. The Historic Hotel Galvez

Galveston Island, Texas

This eerie hotel is located on an island in the Gulf of Mexico. The entire 5th floor of the hotel is extremely haunted. Guests hear ghosts slam doors, turn on and off A/C Units, phones, and electronics. Walls "bow" out into other rooms, ghosts can be heard crying, and the smell of gardenias signals paranormal events are at hand. For some reason, the hotel seems to hide it's gruesome past and it is extremely hard to book a reservation or find a price. Some unfortunate guests who stay on the 5th floor find out the hard why that the hotel is haunted.
