    Losing Votes Over Buffalo Chicken Pizza

    Republican mayoral candidate Joe Lhota drew up some controversy, Monday night, as he was spotted posing with a hot buffalo chicken Pizza. Former NYC mayoral candidate, Sal Albanese, took it to Twitter to suggest it may cost the Republican some votes in the Italian-American community.

    Republican mayoral candidate Joe Lhota posed proudly, this evening at a Queens fundraiser, with his favorite buffalo chicken pizza

    And so I did...

    A proud @JoeLhota4Mayor with a buffalo chicken pizza

    Which immediately caused some discomposure to a former Democratic mayoral candidate, who happens to be a proud Italian American

    @jacobkornbluh @JoeLhota4Mayor Jacob, tell Lhota he will lose Italian American vote for eating buffalo chicken pizza. What's he thinking!

    Frankly...

    @jacobkornbluh the guy has enough problems and now he's adding to them by eating strange pizza and publicizing it.

    As a British Jew, I simply asked the former Bay Ridge Councilman:

    @SalAlbaneseNYC I can't eat it, but what's so strange by eating chicken pizza?

    Jacob Kornbluh

    Here, Mr. ALbanese offered me a lesson in diplomacy

    @jacobkornbluh Jacob, pizza is an italian delicacy. No self respecting Italian would pervert it by adding buffalo chicken to it. Trust me!

    I further pressed..

    @SalAlbaneseNYC But its not like it's prohibited, is it?

    Jacob Kornbluh

    @jacobkornbluh

    But the former mayoral candidate, who knows his stuff, offered me a definite response:

    @jacobkornbluh No it's not prohibited, but if you walk into a true Italian pizzeria and ordered it they may throw you out.

    Sal Albanese

    @SalAlbaneseNYC

    @jacobkornbluh No it's not prohibited, but if you walk into a true Italian pizzeria and ordered it they may throw you out.

    Hunter Walker, who saw me frustrated as ever, offered to serve as interpreter, using a Jewish reference.

    @jacobkornbluh @salalbanesenyc allow me to translate here: it's not traif, just a shonda

    But the question remained open: Will it cost Joe Lhota Italian-American votes? How about Mr. Albanese returning home?

    @SalAlbaneseNYC @jacobkornbluh so can de Blasio count on your vote now sir?

    Colin Campbell

    @BKcolin

    Meanwhile, Joe lhota is up to his last slice...

    If you're an Italian-American and a supporter of the Republican mayoral candidate, would you be turned off by this act? Would you reconsider your vote?

    Your comments are highly appreciative...
