Jump In! The Water's Great In Israel!

From the Dead Sea to the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea to the Sea of Galilee, to the waterfalls at Ein Gedi, there is no shortage of water to jump in, float in, boat in, or just swim in!

Israel is surrounded by many bodies of water, the largest being the Mediterranean Sea. The beaches along Tel Aviv and Yaffo are popular year-round.

The Mediterranean Sea is generally calm and quite warm.

Even in the winter, it's fun to visit the Tel Aviv beach!

If it's too cold to go in the water, enjoy the free gym equipment on the beaches in Tel Aviv.

Floating in the Dead Sea is a highlight of many trips to Israel.

It's a sea like no other in the world.

The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth.

When Rihanna visited Israel to perform in Tel Aviv, she made a detour to float in the Dead Sea!

You can even do yoga in the Dead Sea.

Don't want to go all the way in? Enjoy a relaxing afternoon with your feet in the water!

But whatever you decide, be sure to experience the therapeutic powers of the mud from the Dead Sea.

Located near the Dead Sea are amazing natural waterfalls at Ein Gedi. The hike to the waterfall may be uphill, but it's all worth it when you get there!

In the summer, these waterfalls are quite a refreshing break from the desert heat.

At the southern tip of Israel, the Red Sea is a top spot for snorkeling and diving! The Red Sea houses quite a few of the same species you’ll find in the tropics, as well as some more unique ones. Look carefully and you may even see a lionfish!

For a different experience near the Red Sea, try a fish pedicure at one of the malls in Eilat.

In the north of Israel, you'll find the Sea of Galilee, the largest freshwater lake in Israel. It also is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second-lowest lake overall after the Dead Sea.

Within view of the Sea of Galilee, enjoy a dip in the natural springs at Hamat Gader in Tiberias.

Even on a winter night, these hot springs are nice and warm, providing a great place to relax at the end of the day.

Another fun activity in the Galilee region is to go rafting on the Jordan River, which flows into the Sea of Galilee.

Nothing can beat the cold splashes of water amid a relentlessly hot day.
