Why Kesher Is The Best!

14. We are the only division that has 2 cabin activities per day!

Ramot only has afternoon cabin activity because they sleep in, Makor only has one cabin activity each day because the other cabin activity is spent doing swimming lessons. So we have DOUBLE THE FUN!

13. We get to go to Noah's Ark!

This is America's LARGEST water park! They have crazy slides, two awesome wave pools, and amazing caramel apples

12. Our campers understand hygiene

The campers (for the most part) know how to shower and brush their teeth without assistance

11. The campers will never cease to surprise you

Kesher campers will do crazy things to make you laugh... I have seen campers stick their faces in puddles of mud, wear onesies to banquet, decorate the cabin with untraditional decorations, cover their faces in frosting, and make up songs about the counselors they have crushes on.

10. Sometimes when their iPod shuffles are plugged into the cabin speakers all of the sudden you will hear Hebrew

Lots of Kesher campers are preparing for their Bar or Bat Mitzvahs (Jewish ceremony at age 13) and they have their Torah portions on their iPod. Sometimes when you are listening to music their Torah portion will randomly come on. It's such a delight.

9. We are the smallest division on camp!

That means that it's easier for us to bond as a division. By the end of the session you will know every Kesher camper's name!

8. The campers are old enough to have mature conversations but still young enough that they are entertained by simple things

Your campers will surprise you with their insight during cabin discussions on Shabbat. But they still appreciate the simple pleasures in life like dressing in silly clothes for dinner or spending hours making string bracelets.

7. Kesher campers have funny nicknames

Past nicknames have included: Hamburger, Happy, Juicy, Big Al, Frosty, and Steve (that was my nickname)

6. We have a great mix of new and returning campers

Many of our campers have been to camp before and they love it! We are also lucky to have some brand new campers in Kesher who are attending Beber for the first time. We get to be their very first counselors and make their first summer memorable.

5. Our head counselor is AWESOME!!!

We are #blessed to have the lovely Michaela Lister as our Kesher head counselor! She is coming all the way from Melbourne, Australia for her 4th year on staff because she loves Beber so much! (She's the beauty in the blue)

3. The campers go on 3-day trips for the first time!

In Makor campers do a one-night overnight in the woods. In Kesher we get to take campers on 3-day trips! We spend 3 days and 2 nights camping. Trip options include biking, climbing, canoeing, fine arts, and fishing. All of them are awesome! This picture was taken on the climbing trip, 2nd session 2012

2. The campers are at the age where they are super impressionable and they think counselors are the coolest

Out of all the counselors I had as a camper, the ones I remember most are my Kesher counselors. Kids who are 12 and 13 are at a critical stage in their development and they look for role models. Your campers will think you are super cool no matter how weird you dress or how silly you act. They will idolize you so set a good example! (Featured in this pic is a male counselor wearing a dress, which the kids obviously thought was hysterical)
