The Weather Reporter Who's Setting Ottawa On Fire (...Not Literally)

A hilarious mystery weather reporter for The Ottawa Citizen has been keeping locals laughing and guessing through the miserable winter season.

Weather isn't normally an exciting topic. Especially if you live in Canada. And it's winter. But, thanks to The Ottawa Citizen's mobile app, hearing about how sucky your day is about to be hasn't actually been so sucky. A hilarious mystery weather reporter has been taking Ottawa by storm! Who is s/he? The answer's as elusive as sunshine in Canada this time of year.

The other day, for instance, s/he helped us ring in the first day of Spring.

Which got people talking. Especially on Twitter...

Yet no one was surprised. This reporter has had a loyal following for a while now.

Local blog In a Nutshell even picked up the story, putting out a call to find the reporter so the author, Meghan Brown, could be his/her best friend.

But after a few days of tweets and Facebook messages, Meghan Brown updated readers to let us know she was still BFF-less.

Some of Brown's favourite weather reports (LOL who among us has uttered the phrase "favourite weather reports" before?) include:

And...

Who could it be? Perhaps there's a red herring in this story. Maybe a tweeter? A Facebook commenter or "liker"?

But, at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter who this mystery reporter is... just that s/he keeps bringing us the weather — with a twist. At least until positive degrees have us all feeling a little more, well, positive.

And, dear reporter, if the question is WHETHER we can thank you now or later (That was a clever Drake reference and brilliant weather pun. Get with it, folks!), then we'll thank you now. So thanks.
