This Philadelphia High School Is Up For Sale On eBay For $600,000

A Philadelphia area high school in hopes of raising cash worth $600,000 auctioned itself on eBay. The bid starts from the amount $600,000 which is for The Learning Center in Langhorne. The winner of the bid won’t own the facility but will get a lot of goodies like a naming opportunity, a large pizza, personalized school coffee mug and the chance to deliver a speech at graduation. The 7,000-student district has endured a pair of teacher strikes this year as the school board says it can’t afford to meet the union’s demands. Learning Center Principal JoAnn Holland says she hopes the auction idea will draw the attention of a wealthy benefactor. The auction idea actually came from a recent graduate named Casey Young whose dad tried to sell their family on eBay in 2003. Bidding ends Wednesday. So, what are you waiting for? Give the gift of knowledge worth $600,000.
