The photo looks about like a mugshot, really don’t understand the outrage. As for the article itself, whoa! It’s almost like criminals who commit atrocities are real people as opposed to comic book villains and caricatures. Showing that he was a functioning person on some level isn’t sympathizing or somehow negating what he did; if anything it’s interesting to see that someone so mundane could turn to such a violent act. Plugging your ears and pretending that violence and terrorism don’t exist is what gives these people more excuses to continue committing crimes, as they’re almost always motivated by the perpetrators belief that they lack any other means to be heard.
