GREAT SCOTT! I can't believe it's almost been 30 years since that movie came out, and now we're only 5 years away from 2015. Seemed like we might have flying cars by 2015….back when it was 1985. Remember the 80s nostalgia diner (BTTF II) with the Pepsi…wowwww….

While Doc was showing Marty the time data he said, We can travel back to see the signing of the Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776 or go into the future to July 5, 2010, but before they left he changes it to 1955, the date when he thought of the flux capacitor.

The day the film was released is not important, the thing going around twitter now is based on a line by Doc saying he'd like to go 25 years into the future, which would land him in 2010 (albeit in October). But he never does and doesn't even enter that date into the DeLorean because the Libyans arrive for their plutonium. Of course Marty then goes back in time and changes the future and the movie ends with Doc wanting to go 30 years into the future.  So, it's another 5 years before BTTF Day.

doesn't doc plan to go 25 years into the future (2010) before he is killed by the libyans? i don't think he plans to go to july 2010, but 2010 nonetheless.
