If you religiously watch and love Sherlock, you'll know the torture it is to wait two whole years for the next season.
It's a sad and lonely existence, those two long years.
The wait can drive you mad.
What is there to live for?
You hear nothing from BBC about the new season for months on end.
Suddenly, while browsing through Facebook or other such social media platforms, you see it.
You stare at it for a few minutes, trying to contemplate what you're looking at.
IT'S THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL TRAILER.
You press play as a wave of shock and joy simultaneously come over you like a rogue wave.
And it's set in the 19th Century?!?!
You are unable to control your emotions.
You watch it 17 more times, just to make sure it's not a dream.
You immediately text/call/email/message all of your friends about the amazing news.
Some "friends" remind you that it's still over two months away.
Some "friends" respond with "I don't watch/like that show."
Some say "It's stupid to set it in the 19th century."
Some people ask, "Won't you be spending time with your family on Christmas?"
Others begin to ask, "Will it actually air on Christmas in the States too?"
At least one person you know will ask, "What's 'Sherlock'?"
You're obsession heightens all over again, as it does every two years, and your family and friends start to worry about you.
Thank goodness your Sherlock-loving friends are there to freak out with you.
Maybe you'll even convert more people to join the fandom!
