    Jack Layton, Leader of Canada's NDP, Passes Away

    On July 25, 2011, Jack Layton stepped down as leader of the New Democrat Party in order to concentrate on his second battle with cancer. Sadly, this morning at 4:45am, surrounded by family and loved ones, Mr. Layton passed away. You can read his final message to Canadians here.
