Verizon released an advertisement for their new #InspireHerMind initiative, which is aimed at getting young girls more active in science, technology, engineering and math.
In the video a young girl is bombarded with comments like "Don't get your dress dirty" and "Who's my pretty girl?"
And then it ends with a quote from Reshma Saujani, the founder of Girls Who Code:
It lists shocking statistics like the fact that 66% of 4th grade girls say they're interested in science and math, but by college only 18% of engineering majors are female.
Verizon's built a resource site for the initiative, as well.
