    Cary Elwes portrayed Westley in the cult fantasy classic

    It's been 27 years since the film's release and it remains one of the most beloved movies of all time. The book, As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride, recounts what it was like making the film and has stories from the cast including Wallace Shawn (Vizzini), Billy Crystal (Miracle Max), Robin Wright (Buttercup), and Mandy Patinkin (Montoya).

    Patinkin and Elwes had to learn the fencing choreography for each other's moves so there wouldn't be any mistakes.

    Mandy Patinkin's father died in 1972 and he wanted to believe by doing the film he'd get his father back.

    It took six takes to film the final kiss because Wright and Elwes couldn't stop giggling.
