Almost three weeks after Snowden began hiding inside the airport, he emerged to say that he plans to seek temporary asylum in Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said in the past that Snowden would be able to stay if he stops leaking information that could cause damage to U.S. partners. Snowden continues to allege that he had no intention of harming the U.S. with his information leaks, saying "I want the U.S. to succeed.
