1. One of the biggest advantages of working at JD is getting paid weekly.
2. Saying "sorry for the wait" to every customer is an automatic reaction when we're on till, and you'll probably hear it whether you've been waiting or not.
3. There's nothing more annoying than walking around wearing a top that says "I WORK HERE", only to be asked 10 times a day if you do, in fact, work here.
4. No one wants to be the person that fucked it up with the mystery shopper.
5. If you lose your lanyard, you're fucked.

We're supposed to have it on at all times, just in case the JD Sports top isn't enough to prove we work there.
6. The footwear floor is generally a shit show, ESPECIALLY during the Christmas period.
7. We can't leave the store until we've been searched out.
8. Contrary to popular belief, we do not get unlimited discount on JD items.

9. So when people try to be extra nice for some cheap trainers, the answer is usually obvious.
10. You cannot buy the infamous JD string bag on its own, despite it being the ultimate accessory for boys aged 11-16.
11. We have to count all the "luxury brands", such as Lacoste and Fred Perry, at the end of the day to check none have been stolen.
12. We have way more arguments over the radio than customers know.
13. Sometimes the pressure of working in the stockroom is so bad that we're afraid to even pee.
14. We spend an embarrassing proportion of our time making sure the hangers are spaced out evenly.
15. And the rest of our time is spent fixing shoelaces.
16. Watching someone mess up your newly arranged "standards" is the most heartbreaking thing to watch.
17. We're so frequently briefed on theft that we live in constant fear that someone must be stealing.
18. We spend more time in our work uniform than we do in regular clothes.
19. Overnight shifts usually involve going mildly insane and organising displays in your pyjamas.
20. The stockroom is the best place to sneak a snack.
21. Absolutely nobody wants to mop the shop floor at the end of the day.
22. There's always a disagreement with the manager about what time our lunch break actually starts from.
23. We've all been through way too many pairs of blue jeans due to wearing them every day to work.
24. It's rarely a good thing when the phone starts ringing on shop floor.
25. It's always fantastic news to hear "the fitting room's closed".
26. We do a lot of things to make each other laugh, especially when the manager goes home for the day.
27. Working in JD Sports is ~cool~ until you hit a certain point and start panicking that you'll genuinely never leave.
28. But there's no doubt that JD staff form the tightest bonds strengthened by the fact we all manage to survive work each and every day together.
