There was once a man who was prodigiously well-endowed and he was called “Horse.” He was also promiscuous but refused to sleep with this girl who was called “Water”. Yes, they’re stupid names, but I need to utilise them in order for this joke to work. (Seriously, bear with me, it’s totally worth it!) Water was a homely lass and realised that if she ever wanted to experience Horse’s manly gifts she would have to get him completely wasted. So one night she invited him over in the hopes of getting him blotto and then jumping his bones. Unfortunately, when Horse came round he refused to take a sip of any beverage that she offered. Wanna know why? Think about it!!! Come on…. take a guess! You’re going to love this! IT’S BECAUSE YOU CAN LEAD A HORSE TO WATER BUT YOU CAN’T MAKE HIM DRINK!!!! Get it? It’s because his name’s HORSE and her name’s WATER and he can’t DRINK and it sounds like that old saying “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink” and it’s funny because the whole contrived situation becomes a strangely literal interpretation of a usually analagous statement! That’s why it’s so funny! …you look really angry.
