Science! A new study from a “psychometric consulting company” took the results from online IQ tests and correlated them with the browsers of those who took the online IQ tests. This is correlation, not causation. Internet Explorer has the biggest base demographic, so naturally, it’s going to have the most idiots. Firefox, Chrome, and Safari are the next most popular browsers (respectively) and, unsurprisingly, they fall in the same order. Meanwhile, Camino and Opera have pathetically small exposure, meaning most people using them are going to be at least somewhat tech savvy enough to know that they exist. Personally, I’d like to see it broken down even further. Firefox users who have no add-ons or frivolous add-ons like Persona vs Firefox users who use AdBlock, NoScripts, Vacuum Places, HTTPS Everywhere, Grease Monkey, etc. Same with Chrome. People with Angry Birds app vs apps that aren’t completely retarded. That’s what really separates the men from the boys. It’s not what you use, but how you use it. God knows there’s plenty of FF and Chrome users who’d make some of the people browsing on IE6 look like geniuses.
