Just because you can own a dog, doesn't mean you should. Owners of fat dogs should have them taken away. Just like fat kids.

I don't like seeing overweight dogs as it is, but seeing an overweight pug is even worse. Being a brachiocephalic breed, they're prone to breathing problems as it is and it's just asking for an early death letting them get so fat. What a shame.

Why would the owners do this to the poor dogs?

Nothing like abusing animals for our own amusement.
