I'm a 911 dispatcher, and 99.99% of the time, firefighters will not rescue a cat up a tree. But then, there are far sillier things people call for.

People do know that cats can climb out of trees, right? All they had to do is set some water and food on the roof or at the base of tree, and the cat would've came down on it's own. Waste of taxpayers' money using firefighters and police officers to get a cat out of the tree.
